In conjunction with the SIFE Monash South Africa team, SIFE Monash Clayton intends to implement a five week interactive financial literacy program, targeting Year 10 students in two schools – one in Australia (South East Melbourne) and one in South Africa (Johannesburg).
Imbali (meaning bloom in Zulu) will comprise of interactive role-plays, field trips and presentations to equip students with the fundamentals of commerce not a ; ethics, marketing, accounting, price setting and strategic management. The hallmark of this project will be a controlled blog and conference calls between the students in both Australia and South Africa throughout the program. It will allow them to not only make new friends on an international level and broaden their cultural horizons, but also to consolidate the lessons taught through peer education.
