Health and Wealth

Obesity and malnutrition are a major concern for Australian society. Recent studies have found that over 60% of adults and 25% of children are overweight or obese. Obesity is not only a leading cause of major health problems but also imposes an enormous financial burden on individuals and society.

Health and Wealth addresses these issues through emphasizing the importance of health and well being and through educating the public on ways to eat healthily on a budget. This project aims to dispel the myth that healthy eating is unaffordable. Health and Wealth will equip participants with a sound knowledge of nutrition and skills in budgeting and personal finance management.

Health and Wealth incorporates:

  • Nutritional and Financial Auditing of Household Budgets
  • Shopping and Cooking Demonstrations for Parents
  • Health Classes for Primary School Students
  • Healthy Schools Canteen Program
  • Health & Wealth Stamp of Approval, rewarding businesses for being socially responsible corporate citizens.
