Soy Candle Independence is an initiative which aims to empower at home mothers with the necessary financial skills to develop a deeper understanding of their finances. In addition, it provides both a theoretical and hands on approach to the understanding of the workings of a small business.
SIFE Monash will achieve this via two phases; the development of a small business and the implementation of workshops. Soy Candle Independence workshops are a six week program whereby participants will attain knowledge about daily financial skills to assist them in management of household finances. Additionally, workshops funded by and held in affiliation with Inspired with Love (the Soy Candle business) will provide participants with hands on experience of creating a candle and marketing it as a finalised product.
